  • Kira Goodey Studios Mill Mead Road London, England, N17 United Kingdom (map)

Ever wanted to make a pair of your own shoes? Bespoke shoemaker and designer Kira Goodey will share her decade of shoemaking experience with up to three people as she guides them through creating their own shoes at this exclusive six-day masterclass in her North London studio.

The course runs from 10am - 5pm daily from Monday 16th May to Saturday 21 May 2022.

Further details below student gallery.

Kira is SUPER knowledgeable in the shoe realm. You use the heel and platform she designed and they are super comfortable. I have made shoes prior to her class and still learned a lot.
— Shavana from November '21 Shoemaking Course
Had such a great time learning the craft of shoemaking from Kira. She is such a talent and I learnt so much, would highly recommend!
— Emily from November '21 Shoemaking Course

During the masterclass, Kira will introduce students to the entire process of shoemaking as she walks them through creating their own footwear from scratch. From concept, design and material selection to pattern cutting, stitching and final assembly, Kira will guide each attendee to create a finished pair of shoes that will be theirs to keep forever.

Each attendee will be supplied with all the basic materials and tools needed to create one pair of shoes, including the signature Exploded Platform and Heel (as seen in Kira Goodey’s current collection) and a range of leathers and other materials to choose from.*

ITINERARY:

  • Day 1 Design and pattern cutting

  • Day 2 Leather cutting and skiving

  • Day 3 Folding and stitching

  • Day 4 Stitching continued

  • Day 5 Lasting

  • Day 6 Finishing

Please note that leather and other animal products are used at the studio and in the shoemaking process however we do not work with any exotic skins such as python, crocodile or fur nor permit them in the studio.

*If there is something specific that the student would like to make their shoes from, Kira will help point them in the direction of the correct wholesalers or suppliers where they may be able to purchase it from.
